Schlumberger (SLB)’s donation of PETRLTM software to the School of Mines and Earth Sciences in 2004. Advanced PetrelTM@ a cost of over $ 1 million since 20th of September, 2005. The package constitutes a full professional license that can be used for the interpretation of data for 3D modeling in Geophysics, Petrophysics, Geology and Reservoir Engineering (in Mining Department) –thus bridging the divide between the academia and the industry. It was first used in 2008 AAPG-IBA competition when i led FUTA students to AAPG-IBA competition in the US where FUTA became the first African champions by being placed 7th. Our placement Honorable Mention’was rewarded with a plaque and US $1,000.00. for the University. By this exercise, it is on record that I was the first professor from the Africa Region to lead students to a global competition under the (AAPG-IBA) programme. At the home front, a total number of one hundred and seven (107) members of staff and students of the SEMS were trained in 2005 and this facilitated research by staff, post-graduate and final-year students.

April 2009-2010

Faculty advisor   Donation of 5 licenses of PETRLTM software at US$ 800,000.00 by Schlumberger Nig. Ltd.  with which FUTA was able to win second place (with plaques) among participating Universities in Nigeria. [PETRLTM is a major research package used in property modelling, reservoir engineering, visualization and interpretation - all in Exploration Seismology.

(b) ACTIVITIES OUTSIDE THE UNIVERSITY
I have brought in many scholarships and Grants-in-aid to students of SEMS and I am still in position to continue to bring more opportunities similar to PETRELTM for training of staff in research work and curriculum development to make students industry-compliant.

I am currently the Coordinator of the NAPE-UAP (University Assistance Program) in the SW1 zone and Member, Implementation Committee, through which I have, and can continue to promote University – Industry Linkage by way of which I can solicit for (e.g.) SIWES and NYSC placements for students and TIWES/Sabbatical for staff.

As a winner of the Shell Mentorship Award in 2003, Pioneer Winner of the Versa – Tech/E. P. O. Nwasike Award in 2007 and as the pioneer Dean of our young School (2003-2007), I know that a new department like the Department of Earth Sciences is in dire need of a good number of senior cadre of academic and industrial staff for team work and mentoring of Young Geoscientists, either students or young members of staff. In this I still have a lot of potentials to play a middle-course role.

I was a member of the team that received the NUC Resource Verification Visit Team to Elizade University on 26th and 27th June, 2013 as regards the establishment of the Department Geosciences.
I am the Coordinator, Adopt-Your-Student Initiative whereby each deserving student receives five thousand only (N 5,000.00) monthly including holidays. (website www.adoptyourstudent.com) The donor is Mr. Dotun Oyetunde, an alumnus of (AGP) FUTA.

I am also the Pioneer Recipient of the Nigerian Outstanding Earth Science Lecturers Award, (NOELA), 2013. The event was carried out at a colourful ceremony at the NAPE Awards’ Night, at Eko Hotel Lagos on Thursday, 14th November, 2013.
I am member of FUTA chapter of FUTA-AKURE Community Partnership – a Forum which is responsible for promoting Town and Gown relationship between FUTA and the host community and which is already showing keen interest in some joint ventures such as:–
♣ Skill development, ♣ Extension of FUTA petrol station as a commercial centre, ♣ FUTA Campus radio,
♣ Integrated pawpaw fruits for crude papain production, ♣ FUTA-Harmony Bonds Nigeria Ltd
